Fox Body Thunderbird/LTD Upper & Lower “Battle Box” Torque Box Reinforcement Combo Kit

Designed specifically for 1983-1988 Ford Thunderbird and Ford LTD FOX Body applications, the Wild Rides Upper & Lower “Battle Box” Torque Box Reinforcement Combo Kit strengthens the factory rear upper and lower control arm mounting points to help prevent chassis damage caused by hard launches, aggressive braking, and high horsepower abuse.

Originally designed and developed by Wild Rides, the Battle Box became the industry standard for reinforcing weak factory FOX chassis torque boxes. Wild Rides introduced the world’s first lower torque box reinforcement kit, followed by the first upper reinforcement system, creating the original Battle Box Combo Kit.

Designed to help prevent ripped, bent, and damaged torque boxes while also reinforcing and repairing existing high-stress areas in the chassis, this combo kit improves traction consistency, handling, rear suspension stability, and overall chassis durability.

All stresses created during hard launches and braking are transferred directly through the rear upper and lower control arms into the factory chassis mounting points. Over time, these areas become prone to cracking, tearing, and distortion, especially in high-performance applications. The Battle Box Combo Kit provides the reinforcement needed to help eliminate these common FOX chassis weak points.

Helps improve handling, traction consistency, 60-foot performance, ET consistency, and overall chassis stability while reducing the risk of torque box damage.

Installation Notes

Typical installation time is approximately 2 to 3 hours using basic hand tools and a drill.

Welding after installation is optional but recommended for maximum strength and durability.
